You’ll find plenty to do in this peaceful spot! Explore the medieval town of Wigton and admire its varied architecture and monuments, including Georgian townhouses, an elaborate 19th century fountain, and the striking tower of Highmoor Mansion.
The famous Lake District is also nearby. Renowned worldwide for its stunning lakes and waterfalls, rugged mountains, and jaw-dropping views, it’s the perfect place to explore with a picnic packed.
We would also recommend you head on over to nearby Carlisle and check out Carlisle Cathedral, an amazing feat of architecture and spiritual spot with some amazing stained-glass artwork. We are also situated just 12 miles from the historic Hadrian's Wall.

We have a very friendly and open bar that is frequented by both travellers and locals alike. Our Restaurant is renowned for delicious food that is able to satisfy the most ravenous of diners.
Camping & Caravan
Our site is a Certificated Site (CS). A small camp site that accepts just five caravans or motor-homes, plus tents. Sites are quieter, smaller places to camp, ideal for when you want to get away from it all.

Wheyrigg Hall Hotel is situated just outside of Wigton in Cumbria, and provides excellent access to many of Cumbria’s towns and villages. Guests at Wheyrigg Hall Hotel will find themselves within a stones throw of many traditional Cumbrian locations including Wigton, Aspatria, Silloth, Abbeytown, Kirkbride, Fletchertown, Mealsgate, Thursby and Langrigg, as well as a long list of villages of which there are too many to mention.
For those guests who wish to explore Cumbria’s lesser known nature reserves, Wheyrigg Hall Hotel is just a couple of miles from South Solway Mosses as well as the Solway Coast Area of Natural Beauty.
Alongside the breath-taking views that the Lake District offers, as of the 10th of July 2017 the Lake District became the UK’s largest UNESCO World Heritage Sites.
